- Describe where you come from
- I was born and raised in the bay area (east bay), but spent the past 2 summers on the east coast in NYC. I always add in the last bit about NYC because I've spent more time there these past two years than in my home in the bay!
- Tell me where you're going
- After graduation, I am going back to the bay area. Traffic in the bay area isn't as bad as it is in the LA area (yet) and I don't think I'm cut out to make it through the winters on the east coast, since the coldest winter day I've ever experienced was a rainy day in San Francisco.
- Tell me how you plan to get there
- I have an internship with one of the Big 4 in the bay area this upcoming summer, so I will at the very least be living at my actual home this summer!
- How are you LIKE your parents
- I am like my parents because I put family first.
- How are you UNLIKE your parents
- My parents love traveling, and even though I like sightseeing, I hate plane rides so I am not a big fan of "traveling".
- Have you developed your own expectations for yourself, or if you were honest, would you say you're operating under someone else's expectations?
- A couple years ago, I was operating under the expectations that society conditioned people to follow (work hard, get good grades, go to a good university, etc.) but have since developed my own expectation for myself that are more driven by what I want, than what society says is best.
- Who serves as a model for you of someone who lives life with great passion and personal responsibility?
- Warren Buffett is someone who comes to mind. Buffett acquired his wealth nearly single-handedly, relying solely on his intelligence. However, he did not harm people or use underhanded tactics to achieve his wealth. He lives a humble lifestyle and used to eat at McDonald's everyday. He has also donated large sums of money to charity, and would be the richest man in the world if he had not done so.
- Connecting with the ANIMAL WORLD: What wild animal do you feel a special connection with, and why?
- I feel a connection to the wolf, because wolves hunt well in packs but can also hunt alone.
- Connecting with the NATURE KINGDOMS: Describe a significant childhood encounter with a tree or plant.
- When I was around 12 years old, I played golf on a course that used fescue grass, as opposed to bent grass or rye grass and I swore to never play on the course again after 1 round.

I'm from the Bay Area as well and I completely agree with the weather. I can't even remember the last time it was actually cold.
ReplyDeleteI have also lived in the east coast and I had enough snow storms there. It did not take a long time to fall in love with the warm weather in LA.
ReplyDeleteI found it interesting that you don't like to travel that much because you don't like plane rides. It's a good thing that you go to school in LA so that you can minimize your plane rides.
ReplyDeleteI liked what you said about setting yourself free from society's expectation - and to set your own. Great point.
ReplyDeleteHey Ben!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Good choice with the wolves the pack will never let you down. i also like how you set your self free of expectations and find your comfort in crafting and living in your own.
